Bummer

Now I have on my account the exact amount of monies to buy my laptop of choice - Acer Aspire 7730. Every day my cursor slowly crawls to that "cash out" button, but I have a courage to not click it - it would leave me without bankroll and I do not want grind out 10NL again.

Patience, patience.

Ultimate Poker Face [not associated with UB in an way]

Well, this is interview with Gorgoroth frontman Gaahl [Kristian Espedal] . If You have no interest in black metal, just skip to the 6:24 - this is just awesome. Two and a half minutes of silence and zero movement.

I guess interviewer shitted his pants, when Gaahl looked at him after that world class pause.

On other note - some interesting words about Power Hold'em Strategy - I think You should read them before spending any cash on it.

Because I am stupid [edited. guess what's added]

Story Nr.1

I got drunk. Really drunk. And come home in the early morning. As I am smart enough not to play drunk for real monies, I fire up One-get-it-all-54-player-SNG for my FTPoints. While I play with one hand [!!!! can YOU do that????] and wave goodbyes to my girlfriend, who goes to work, I end up on the final table. So I sit on the couch and after good run end up heads-up with 4:1 chiplead!

So, guess what happens?

I pass out for an hour.

Why? Cause I am stupid.

Story Nr.2

I join 500eiro freeroll at Nextpoker. Have no idea, why they send me an SMS about that, but whatever - after few tries I get that fucking software to work.

Entrants - 450. Level of play - have no idea - I am watching TV with my girl.

Bust out 52nd. 50 players paid.

Why? Cause I am stupid - my four tits [QQ] wasn't good there and I knew it.

Moral of the story?

Scammers in online poker / nice work, PokerStars!

Lately had been reading about scammers in online poker world - particulary in transfer "business", where people transfer funds between different poker clients and third parties.

- One guy got scammed of 2500$, but in the end got some of it back thanks to PokerStars, who did incredible work in this matter. [Link]
- Also we can read some AIM log with interesting chat with another scammer. This one includes some great lines as
"PSYCHE!
you ain't getting shit". [Link]

And, talking about scamming - you know all those Nigerian scammers of course! Here's site, where you can look at scammed scammers. Some of pics are really funny.

A little accent there, a little accent here...

Did someone said this or am I the first one? "If you don't know when to play - no worries. The main thing it to know when NOT to play". Yes.

Proceed in scotish accent: "So full of shit I am".

Back to normal accent.

Today read interesting news concerning online poker business. "New York Times" has an interesting article about argue between U.S. and Antigua and Barbuda. Yes, concerning online gambling restrictions in da big country and all the ramblings in World Trading Organization. Gambling Dispute With a Tiny Country Puts U.S. in a Bind.

Some news concerning Poker Players Alliance can be found at Lou Krieger's. But there's nothing much - they move from San Francisco to Washington D.C.

Pokernews let us know, that now people will be able to transfer funds between Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker sites. Well, ummm, ok.

Expectations [the post where I'm telling how smart I am]

Fuck them!

Really.

Hate when it's happends - one day you make two buy-ins and then you expect to do the same next day. Almost always it end's up with downswing. Thank God, now, if I am down one buy-in I quit even if I really want to play further.

Since I am at FT, believe it or not, I don't use Poker Tracker. Not any more. Less guessing - more fun.

And best of all - I start to starve for some good reading.

Argue about Cash vs. Tournament

Very good post from Miami Don - one of the bloggers I read very regulary. Recently he posted very good written opinion about "Cash vs. Tournament poker" matter. He, of course, was on the cashgame's side and you just can't disagree with his thoughts. From other side, Chad from SNG Machine blog did the reply to Don's post defending tourneys and life within them.

After reading both posts I tend to agree with Don more. We have everyday needs and generally can't afford to wait for the big score [if we suggest, that poker is our everyday job]. And I don't think about just bread, water and rent - I talk new laptop, trip with family, clothes for kids... It's all about that. Tournament player wants to take big score after hundreds of bustouts. That's not gonna work. Let's imagine some predator out in the jungle, who eats only animals with, ummm... one eye. He will starve to death by the time he sees his dinner and then he will be so weak, he will not catch a shit.

Tournaments must be an addition to our lifes, not the main income. Ofcourse, I am not the one who could talk really, couse, as Otis said, "Ned Flanders thinks I am a pussy", but that's how it looks to me.

Don't use auto-login on Your poker account! / Random bits

There is an old saying, with what we start the stories: "I have a friend, and he..." ...and then put in your own text.

So I have a friend who plays online poker, too. One day he got pretty drunk and, knowing good his lessons from the past, forgot about playing poker whatsoever. BUT - he have a friend, who didn't want to forget all this shit and, between a little party, sneaked to my friends laptop and played some cash [yes - autologin and password rememberer is always a good thing for a third persons].

Result?

Today [after three days of not playing] my friend logs into his account and sees, that half of his bankroll is gone. The funny thing, that he isn't mad on his friends. He's happy, that another half of money is still there.

The bad person "doesn't remember anything" and got no money.

Funny things, ya know.

And here some bits from other sources:

World's largest law firm to advise Neteller in their fight with the US Department of Justice from Lou Krieger's blog

Lucko shows one hand. These kind of hands gives trouble to me, too.

---------------

And what about that "Mansion Poker Dome"? Maybe I don't see the same shit, as people over the pond?! But if that is the one, where six people sit behind glass [at least this kind of show with the same label I can sometimes catch via "VIASAT Sport 3" channel... I think that this show stinks, errrrrr, big time.

Can You loose money due a slow connection?

Of course, the answer is "YES"!

As we know [or don't], UB gives us 2 all-in protections per day. Yesterday I had worst connection imaginable and my two protections was gone in first five minutes. I struggled and struggled about one and a half an hour. That was a complete disaster.

Over the course of about very few hands I managed to climb a bit, but in two pretty big hands and got disconnected again The biggest dissapointment was while slowplaying full house of Kings against calling station. Guess what! Disconnected on the river!

So, lost for about 7 bucks overall that session and turned off computer being -1$ for the day.

Tip: If You think, that 7 bucks isn't much, think different: it's almost 1/3 of buy-in. So, if You play 5/10$ stakes, for example, its 300$ down the tubes. Isn't that nice! DON'T PLAY, WHEN YOU HAVE CONNECTION PROBLEMS!

UPDATE: Today managed to play some 30 hands during lunch brake - same shit. Call to a provider cleared things up - have to wait 24 hours.
