Update. Damn update

Nothing really has changed over these months. I'm still without computer, but playing at work suck so much, that I don't enjoy it even a little. Still I managed to try the new Poker Tracker software and I am really stoked - it does the job faster and better and the hud looks good. When all this shit will end, I will buy this one for sure [I will even get a discount due my PAHud purchase earlier].

I am forking on new project, what will hopefully end our [I mean my family] struggle and will put things right. This is project I really love and if all works out I will send out our best beer to fellow bloggers, who found a time to say some good words to me over the past year. If I forget it - remind me!

Still I manage to play live poker at work about once a week. These are great times - have fun and make money. Of course, money isn't that big, but it's something.

Just a moments ago saw a video with well-known-poker-pro-from-DUKE. I just can't figure out, do I want to laugh or cry... hah.

OK, later.

And that Rizen's post over 2p2 about signing with UB!

fuck it - let's celebrate

Well, it's in my personal life. Again! My girlfriend is out of work, so all living expenses is on me and it's getting really hard to get a decent living now. Again! That struggling with money is not a vacation. I even thought to sell my laptop [yes, exactly the same one, that crashed recently], but I do all I can not leave myself without poker and other stupid things I do at home. Besides, I finally start to climb out of that shithole I put myself into almost busting my account. Feeling confident in my game. Darn

Got contacted by few new bloggers via Poker Disasters and 2+2. Always nice to hear something from someone! Let's say hi to Dan with his daily grind and Munchers, who have chosen really weird name for his blog: "Becoming Poker". Ok, whatever - those dudes will be linked in blog list as soon as I get around to it.

Oh, yes, Johnny Hughes [the writer] contacted me on 2+2 also. Even if that was some sort of spam had a little chat with him. Nice.

So, fuck it - let's celebrate life and fight the next fight! [what a symphony, sheeesh!]

God doesn't share his thoughts with Yang / On-line Poker returns to US / Help me bust my UB account!

Last things first.

Well, after a while I thought I should make a little rundown through some fellow blogs and news. As always, one of my favorite writers is Otis and today I enjoyed his post called "Permission to shut up granted". Good news comes from PokerNews: BarryG [with PPA and other players] recently returned from the trip down to Congress and claims, that online poker will be back pretty soon. As we know, Doyle's Room is the first bird in that direction.

To my surprise, I recently discovered, that I have 8 cents on my UB account. Can anyone send me another 2c, so I can sit with 10c at the table and finally bust my account?

About on weekly basis I tend to look at Poker Disasters stats and this mourning pretty shocked me. There are the tab, that shows referring link and one just amaized me - "jerry yang+banned from Pokerstars". Heck! The first thought was: "wait a minute - he had some sort of a deal with FullTilt. At least he wear their logo at the WSOP!". But, you got to check, right?! It appeared false alarm, but, boy, this would be interesting. God have his purposes and he don't share them with Jerry! Yikes!

NOPE

Well, I guess this is the last post of Poker Disasters. Time passed and I realized, that I don't need this blog to be a part of poker community. I can read other blogs and comment them without being blogger myself. The best feedback on playing and events I can get through various forums. So why I waste my time here?! Thank you for reading. All the luck. And we will meet again in Your blog or forum. Here I will update something about once a month maybe - if something big happends.

Drunk people play good / how did I did a bad thing

Sunday mournings over here are the best for playing online - then all the drunk people in America enjoying midnight and playing. There are people, who calls on the river with J7c on AK high board with four hearts. Unbelievable. Unforutantely, they sometimes wake up with good hand and then there's a trouble. Thats how I lost one buy-in.

Then came tilt and after ten hands I lost preflop all-in with AK of spades. To a donk, yes. He pushed with T8 sooted. I know, I know, generally you don't want to go with all your monies with big slick, but...

So, finally, two buy-ins down, I quit.

About that bad thing, mentioned in this posts title: Wanted to have some more feedback for Poker Disasters and, with doubt in my mind, posted the adress in2+2 forums. Only few responses. And topic deleted after couple days. I realize, that that was wrong and everything. Even sent the apology letter to the man, who deleted the post. So, please, no hard feelings.

Not interesting.

Post Nr.100! / Phil Laak is Da Man

Don't feel really happy about it - it's not like Nr.1000 or something. Besides, that month long pause messes up everything.

Old news, but couldn't not to post them - Phill Laak and Ali Eslami defeated poker machine Polaris. Humans win! Kill all humans!

And here's some unstrategy: we all love AJ, don't we?!

Final table / me:revealed

Mmmmyeah. Finally ended three day drinking fest. So there's nothing much about the game. But fellow writers did good job. Thus far, the best piece about upcoming Final Table battle I found at Tao, but, I guess you all have read it already [who doesn't read it, huh?].

Well, that's about it. No much strengh over here. Even typing seems a little difficult.

And yeah - changed profile - now you can see my ugly face and stop reading my blog.

This blog is dangerous!

Just saw in few blogs this thingie and gave a shot too. Funny thing, actually...

WSOP: third first day is down / stupid name for a mause pad

... and right - one more to go.

Being at work, I'm checking live updates every 20 minutes or so, so Poker Disasters will be one of the first places people can know about it! Yeah... big deal...

Anyways, visited the official site of the event and noticed one "really cool" banner with
Jen Harman. So, that is an ad of some sort of mause pad, that you can attach to your chair. Ok - thought is pretty good. But what I find funny about that, it is it's name: "DX Net Pro". Guys, if that's a "Pro" version, what is non-"pro"? You can put the mouso on, but can't move? Or what? It's just I always thought, and still am, that if there is an additional "pro" in thingies name, then there must be a simple version before. Here You can see Jen in most relaxed position ever [according to pad's marketing people].

Bad things happened, but I am back

Yep!

Sorry for my absence. Was going through terrible times. And still am. As I, being so full of principles, quitted my job, it took a while to find a new one. I was cut off from internet, mobile... and so on. I am still in debt huge way for a rent and landlord wants to kick us out of our flat. And for bonus - the webpage development didn't work - the programmer I found stood me up and now I am an idiot in some people eyes. I don't care about other thoughts in this matter - just there was pretty much money involved. Yes... But, I hope I am back in business. The job offer I took was more from desperation - pay is 25% less, but there are the good things too - free mobile and dinner - guess it summs up to the same. If I hadn't those depts, I would smile right now. At this moment only my stupid optimism keeps me alive.

Poker world? Ha! Deposided 50 bucks at FullTilt [I blew my money at UB long ago - entered some big tournaments in hope of getting rent money]. Nothing much - will start work from the bottom. Again. I heard WSOP has begun?! Wow!

Yesterday I was really afraid to open up the FeedReader... There must be millions of unread posts over there! Yikes! It will take some work.

Missed this all thing. But now I am back. Hungry and poor bastard as I always was and, hopefully, won't be.

*** If You read this, You must send me some good thoughts.

Back in full throttle!

Recently I compared my blog entries here and over my latvian [non poker] space and got a little weird numbers. In three months over here I have made almost 70 entries, but over there just about twenty. So, for some reason, I decided to take it cool over here. But You know - it's not so easy. By updating my blog, I was always aware about happenings around, but, after some laziness during last week, I found, that I am a little lost. No no delays. Poker Disasters is back in a full throttle!!!

Been playing a lot of tournaments lately - freerolls, couse just can't adjust to a thought, that someone can pay for that. And achieved somewhat a milestone - 11th place out of 640. A was so proud of myself.

Finally got my Click2Pay account up and running. It's the only place, latvian people can register without major pain in the ass. Damn. It's not the third world by any means, but those services tend to come into our market pretty slow.

"California Split" review still [yes, still] coming up.

Jamie Gold and his mistakes

Well. UpForPoker has a post about the press release from WSOP, which states about new rules in the upcoming big event and their "thoughts" about Jamie Gold's behavior last year in two episodes, when he told about his cards and showed one at the time, where action wasn't over for more than one player.

They say, that, of course, they can't do anything about those mistakes their people made by not seeing the violations of the rules, but, at this point, they are very glad, that Gold agreed, that his behavior wasn't even close to spotsmanship.

I must agree, that at first, especially after reading many, many, many sources of info and personal opinions, I didn't like Gold at all. But, after all he's been doing last three or four months - apologizing all over the places, being good guy and so on, I must give him credit - if he is a scumbag, he's done a great work to not look like it. Above that, he looks like ok guy.

So, let's see, how does in this year's WSOP.

p.s. full-assed post.

p.p.s. look to the left [of the blog] - now you can skype me!

Poker Disasters update

WCP made me smile this mourning. Just loved their sentence "PokerNews.com, a site we read for its hot photos of playing cards and dice". Nothing much.

And yes - finally I've found a way to get back to reviewing things. As You can see at the right side column, I will write a review on the movie "California Split".

For now Poker Disasters already have reviews on:
- Ace On The River
- Poker Bustouts
- No Limit: A Search for the American Dream on the Poker Tournament Trail

You are very welcome to check them out, if You haven't done that yet.

WSOP is coming / And I am proud!

And thats why we hear from the organisers more and more stuff - some good, some bad.

As we [me and my cat] browsed through RSS reader, the main news regarding WSOP is, for sure, recently held teleconference between WSOP hosts and journalists [only 30]. All about that You can read at Pokerti and KickAssBlog. Interesting.

WPT Enterprises just released their numbers about 4th quater of year 2006. The net loss is 1.1M, what is somewhat better compared to 2005. 4th quaters 1.4M. The shares are dropped by 5c in their value. But overall there are less clouds and everybody is/will be happy. More @ PokerNews.

* * * * * * *

And, yeah-yeah-yeah, I am proud - just for a moment, tiny tiny moment, by blog was visited by someone from CardPlayer:

Don't know why, though :]

Nemesis

Yep. Found one of his [actually "her's"] minios. The guys [maybe girls] name is Scarehooker and he keeps busting me. Nice name, huh! But I guess this is good, couse thanks to him I have [verrrrrry costly] understood one of my leaks - I just can't lay down good hands. Yesterday that "hooker" cleanded me up for 40$ just becouse my full house wasn't good. About days ago he busted me with set over set. Damn...

Laydowns. Do the freakin' laydowns. Funny thing is, that my guts screamed at me "he's got you beat!!!". But nooo - "Me have card good! Me give money he!". Stupid donkey.

On other news: as we all love "Poker After Dark", here you go some candeee!

on Poker Disasters:
- yes, starting from this post, we have tag named "candy" also.
- yes, I mean - no, there will be not a review about Hellmuth's video
- please, come again! Enter link to my blog at Your places. Send me money. Or beer. I love beer.

Poker reviews

OK. Take a look to the right column - "CHECK BACK FOR" - there will be frequently posted upcoming events in Poker Disasters. As You can see - in next few days I'll post a review of Barry Greenstein's book "Ace On The River".

Also, there will be reviews of poker videos and maybe poker rooms.

New place to be

Well - yes. "osinshpoker@blogspot" died. I guess because I made too narrow concept for that. So, as the blogspot service became better I decided to make a step further. So, here will be stuff not only about me, but interesting stuff from poker world, links to good stories and shit, too.

All posts will be devided by labels such as
- strategy
- people
- fun
- money
- random
...and such.

If You are visiting me between 2.nd and 4th january - here's all pretty empty. In the next couple days I will fill this place with all the blogs and places I visit almost daily [via RSS reader mostly].

I will start my statistics as well.

...and will search for the ways to popularize " Poker Disasters"

If You are adding mPD to your RSS or have any seuggestions - please, inform me!
